BNP spokesman Salahuddin detained, claims wife
Law enforcers last night picked up BNP spokesperson Salahuddin Ahmed from a house in Dhaka, claim his wife and the party.
“Members of Rab, police and DB (Detective Branch of police) detained him from a residence at Uttara around 10:10pm yesterday,” Salahuddin’s wife Hasina Ahmed told The Daily Star this afternoon.
In a press release, BNP said a team of 20/30 members of police, DB and Rapid Action Battalion picked up the joint secretary general of the party along his two staff, including a woman, last night.
The press release signed by BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan added that Salahuddin had been discharging duties as its spokesperson since the arrest of its another joint secretary general, Rizvi Ahmed, on January 31.
However, law enforcers denied picking up Salahuddin.
Contacted, Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said, “We have no information in this regard.”
