BNP yet to get nod to March 12 rally

The BNP is yet to get the permission to hold a rally on March 12 at Suhrawardy Udyan demanding release of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

“One week has passed, but we are yet to get the permission to hold the rally. But they (government) are holding the rally today,” Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, standing committee member of the party, said while addressing a discussion at National Press club.

The party on March 2 announced to hold the rally on the venue demanding release of Khaleda and also said they sought permission from the authorities concerned to hold the rally.
