BNP’s human chain at Press Club tomorrow

BNP today announced of a human chain programme for tomorrow near Jatiya Press Club, Dhaka, as part of its peaceful protests to press for the release of their Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

The hour-long human chain from 11:00am will be formed in Dhaka and elsewhere in the country, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint secretary general, announced in a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office.

Also, a countrywide sit-in was announced for Thursday, near the party’s Nayapaltan office, from 11:00am to 12:00noon.

Khaleda was convicted in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case on February 8 by a special court in Dhaka. She landed in jail after she was sentenced to five years' imprisonment in the case.

Soon after her conviction, BNP announced peaceful countrywide demonstrations on February 9 and 10. Later, it staged protests from February 12 to 14.
