Changes to bring back spirit in JP activities: Ershad
Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad today said he had brought new faces to the party’s top positions to bring back the spirit in its organisational activities.
He blamed Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu, who was removed from the JP secretary general post by Ershad yesterday, for the “weak activities of the party”.
“Actually, he does not understand politics,” the JP boss criticised Bablu adding “I don’t want anyone to be expelled or leave the party.”
Ershad has recently appointed his younger brother GM Quader co-chairman and Ruhul Amin Hawlader secretary general of the party.
He also lambasted Bablu for declaring JP presidium member Raushan Ershad acting chairman of the party. “He illegally declared Raushan chairman of the party while I was in Rangpur. He could have waited for my return for one or two days.”
The JP boss along with Quader and Hawlader went to JP central office in Kakrail around 6:30pm and then talked to reporters on the latest development of the party.
“The party has come into the centre of discussions across the country just within a day of the move and the leaders and activists have been active again,” Ershad said adding it has proved that his decision to introduce new faces in the party top post was right.
