CEC showers Hasina, AL with praises
Hailing the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said each sector in the country has seen development during the regimes of Awami League.
“AL has taken the country on a highway towards development and each sector has seen development. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the country has become a mid-income country,” the CEC said in his introductory speech during a dialogue with the ruling party.
The country has seen development in the sectors of education, social, economic development, structure development, science and technology, CEC Huda said.
The PM is acting like a “mother of the earth” in a bid to resolve the Rohingya crisis, CEC added.

“The Election Commission is enjoying more freedom compared to other countries in the world and that has happened during Awami League’s tenure,” Huda added.
During its dialogue with the EC, the ruling Awami League placed an 11-point proposal, including following the constitutional provision under which the incumbent prime minister would remain the head of the polls-time government.
The CEC also talked about the Bangladesh Liberation War, the Language Movement of 1952 and about the contribution of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“Multi-party democracy in the country was restored by him [Zia],” he said.
