Fakhrul goes to Singapore for treatment
BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir left Dhaka for Singapore today for treatment.
He departed from Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight around 8:45am, Sayrul Kabir Khan, a staff of BNP chairperson’s media wing told The Daily Star.
Fakhrul will receive treatment at the National University Hospital in Singapore for different health complexities, including blockage in the nerve of his neck, he said.
Fakhrul’s wife Rahat Ara Begum is accompanying him. He is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on October 21.
Earlier, after being released from jail six months after his arrest, Fakhrul went to Singapore for treatment at the same hospital on July 27.
He later went to USA from Singapore for a surgery to have the blockage removed at Cornell Hospital.
After nearly two months, Fakhrul returned Dhaka on September 21.
