Gayeshwar gets HC bail, free to come out of jail
The High Court today granted bail to BNP leader Gayeshwar Chandra Roy in a criminal case clearing his way to walk out of jail.
Police filed the case with Rampura Police Station on December 2013 under Explosives and Substances Act after a bomb was blasted on a vehicle during BNP-Jamaat alliance led anti-government agitation.
The HC bench of Justice Md Rezaul Haque and Justice Md Khosruzzaman granted bail to Gayeshwar after hearing his bail plea.
Gayeshwar’s lawyer Nitai Roy Chowdhury told The Daily Star: “Now there is no legal bar to his client’s release from jail following today’s HC order.”
Gayeshwar, who is now in Kashimpur Jail in Gazipur, is accused in total 27 cases and he got bail in all the cases from the HC.
