It’s a historic verdict: AL

The ruling Awami League termed the Supreme Court verdict upholding death penalty of war criminal Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury “historic”.

AL Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak came up with the party’s reaction during a press briefing at the party chief’s Dhanmondi office in Dhaka this afternoon.

“It is a historic verdict. The longtime expectation of the countrymen has been fulfilled through the verdict,” the AL leader said.

The apex court of the country earlier this morning upheld the death penalty of the BNP leader for the crimes against humanity committed during the Liberation War of 1971.
