DU students behind attack on VC: BCL
Those who obstructed the vice chancellor back in January 23 are the ones behind the attack on his house during quota demonstration, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) said today.
“It is none other than those who locked up our VC on Jan 23 who are behind the attack,” said Motahar Hossain Prince, general secretary of Dhaka University BCL unit, said.

He was referring to the group of progressive and independent students, who barged into the registrar building demanding expulsion of some BCL leaders who had harassed some females at campus, while speaking at a rally at the base of Aporajeyo Bangla, Dhaka University.
The Chhatra League rally was held this afternoon to condemn the attack on the residence of Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman, during the quota reform demonstration.
“The agitators provoked police,” claimed Saifur Rahman Sohag, president of BCL’s central committee. “The agitators attacked police, prompting the lawmen to retaliate with tear gas.”
He said, the sole purpose of the agitation was to create anarchy in Dhaka University.
Meanwhile, SM Mizanur Rahman, president of BCL Dhaka north unit, threw all out on Ganajagoron Mancha leader Imran H Sarker and said “BCL will skin him alive”.
