JCD chief Rajib remanded in violence cases
Separate Dhaka courts today granted police to take Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal President Rajib Ahsan for eight-day questioning in custody.
The accused was produced before court today. Forty days of remand was sought by Shahbagh, Motijheel and Paltan police in four violence cases.
After the hearings of two Paltan and one Motijheel police cases, Metropolitan Magistrate Shamsul Arefin allowed six days of remand for Rajib.
The other court of Metropolitan Magistrate Tarek Mainul Islam granted police two more days to interrogate Rajib in a case over attack on ruling Awami League lawmaker Chhabi Biswas.
The accused also moved separate bail petitions, but to no avail.
On July 19, Rajib was held along with five others from Patuakhali allegedly along with contraband yaba tablets before he was implicated in a lawsuit in that regard.
