Khaleda invites Hasina to Iftar party

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has sent an invitation letter to Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina to attend an Iftar party scheduled for June 21.

“We invited Awami League President Sheikh Hasina for attending the party on June 21,” BNP's Assistant Office Secretary Abdul Latif Jony told The Daily Star.

Khaleda will host the Iftar party at the city's Bashundhara Convention Center in honour of the country's political leaders, said Syrul Kabir Khan, a staff of BNP chairperson's media wing.

On behalf of Khaleda, BNP spokesperson Asaduzzaman Ripon and Jony delivered the invitation letter to the AL president's Dhanmondi office around 11:00am today, Khan said.

AL's Deputy Office Secretary Mrinal Kanti Das received the letter, the ruling party leader confirmed.

The month of Ramadan will begin this week.
