Khaleda returns with failure: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has returned to her home embracing failure and defeat after staying 92 days in her office aiming to topple the government.
"…Taking the agony of failure she had to appear before the court and returned to her home," she said while addressing a meeting of Awami League’s Dhaka city [North and South] units leaders at her Gono Bhaban residence.
Khaleda Zia earlier told that she will not return to her home before toppling the AL government and thought she would be able to do so sitting in her office, said Hasina, also president of AL.
"She (khaleda Zia) could not return to her home as a winner," she said thanking all people of the country and AL leaders for destroying the dream of Khaleda.
She said that this is the win for those who are pro-Liberation force. "We have to hold this victory," the PM said.
Terming BNP-Jamaat’s recent activities as the 'nor’wester and cyclone', the AL chief said, "This is just the beginning of the nor’wester and cyclone. These can hit any time. We have to remain prepared to face them."
Senior AL leaders Matia Chowdhury, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Shahara Khatun and AFM Bahauddin Nasim, among others were present at the meeting.
