Khaleda’s treatment: Our desire not fulfilled, says Fakhrul
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today expressed his dissatisfaction over the treatment process of the party chairperson Khaleda Zia at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.
“We expected that Khaleda Zia would be treated at a specialised hospital by her preferred doctors. Our desire has not been fulfilled,” Fakhrul said while addressing a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka.
Fakhrul’s reaction came hours after Khaleda was taken to BSMMU from Dhaka Old Central Jail and admitted there for her treatment this afternoon.
Later, briefing media, BSMMU Director Brig Gen Abdullah Al Harun said the five-member medical board formed to treat Khaleda will hold a meeting tomorrow to initiate all required medical tests on her and start the treatment process.
The BSMMU director, however, said the BNP chief will be informed of the names of the doctors of the medical board and any other doctor could be included to it according to her preference.
