Krishak Sramik Janata League President Abdul Kader Siddique today demanded resignation of Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda following his comments lauding BNP founder General Ziaur Rahman.

“The statement that the CEC made should be withdrawn and he should resign,” Kader told journalists after a meeting.

The CEC yesterday lauded BNP founder General Ziaur Rahman and said “He restored multi-party democracy” in the country.

Kader Siddique today came up with the remarks following a scheduled two-and-half-hour meeting with the members of the Election Commission to discuss about the upcoming general elections.

“The CEC was alone in giving these comments and did not discuss this with the other election commissioners and we do not agree with his comments,” Kader added.

The party placed an 18-point demand with the EC in regard to the upcoming general elections.
