Condemning the bomb blasts in Old Dhaka’s Huseni Dalan and killing of a police officer at Gabtoli, Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) President AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury today alleged that the government has failed to maintain the country’s law and order.

“Killing of a child and injuring of many people in bomb explosions at Huseni Dalan and murder of an assistant sub-inspector of police have once again demonstrated the government’s failure to maintain law and order,” he said in a statement yesterday.

B Chowdhury, also a former president, said the two incidents have set another instance of the government’s failure. “It’s now a burning question when the sleeping home minister and the idle officials of his ministry will wake up.”

A 16-year-old boy was killed and around 80 people were injured in the bomb explosions at the Shia Muslim community’s headquarters, Huseni Dalan, in the old part of Dhaka city early Saturday.

Earlier on October 22, miscreants stabbed to death assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Darus Salam Police Station Ibrahim Mollah in the city’s Gabtoli area.
