Level playing field not yet ensured: BNP
BNP today alleged that the Election Commission has failed to create a level-playing field for all candidates of the upcoming Dhaka and Chittagong City Corporations elections.
“We have been noticing that the level-playing field has not been ensured yet for all the candidates. We will be forced to show our ‘no-confidence’ to the EC if it fails to do so,” BNP leader Moudud Ahmed said.
Moudud Ahmed, also a standing committee member of BNP, was addressing a press conference at the party chief Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office in Dhaka this evening.
He also termed the upcoming city corporation polls scheduled for April 28 as acid test for the EC.
“We expect the EC will arrange a free, fair and impartial city elections by ensuring a level-playing field. Otherwise, people will give a befitting replay to it,” he said.
