BNP attacks cops to foil polls: Quader
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today alleged that the BNP men carried out attack on policemen as a part of the party’s conspiracy to foil the upcoming parliamentary election.
Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, came up with the allegation at a press briefing at AL president’s Dhanmondi office this afternoon.
At least 20 BNP activists and supporters were injured in a clash with police in Dhaka this afternoon. Police claimed at least 20 policemen were also injured as the BNP activists hurled brick chips at them during the clash.
Terming the attack as a pre-planned, Quader also alleged that BNP leader Mirza Abbas led the attack. “Through the attack, BNP once again proved that it is a terrorist party”, he said.
