Tarique to be brought back, punished: Law minister
Law Minister Anisul Huq today said BNP’s acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will be brought back from London to face the sentence of his conviction.
Anisul came up with the remarks while addressing as chief guest a reception programme in Akhaura upazila of Brahmanbaria district this evening.
Akhaura upazila Awami League organised the programme to accord a reception to Anisul Huq, a lawmaker of the constituency who is serving as the law minister for a consecutive time.
“Court has sentenced Khaleda Zia to five years imprisonment for stealing the money of orphans. The apex court later has increased her conviction to ten years,” he said.
“Her son has been sentenced to life imprisonment in the August 21 grenade attack case. The verdict against Tarique will be executed after bringing him back,” he said.
Slamming Oikya Front Convener Dr Kamal Hossain, the law minister said Dr Kamal never demanded the trial of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s killing.
