Chhatra Union’s 41st central council to be held on April 12, a faction announces
A faction of Bangladesh Chhatra Union announced that the organisation's 41st central council will be held on April 12.
This decision was made at an emergency meeting, according to a press release signed by Chhatra Union Assistant General Secretary Tamzeed Haider, issued early today.
While talking to The Daily Star today, Chhatra Union Central President Foez Ullah said that the assistant general secretary has no right to declare the date of central council without the consent of its general secretary and office secretary.
This is illegal and action will be taken against him for violating the organisation's rules, the Chhatra Union president said.
"Some expelled leaders of the organisation are hatching conspiracy to tarnish our organisation's image," said Foez Ullah.
On February 25, the leftist student body's central committee suspended seven leaders, including the Dhaka University unit president and secretary, for violating rules of the organisation.
"Some problems have been created in the organisation ….. We think, it is possible to overcome those through a new council," said AGS Tamzeed Haider.
