DNCC Mayoral By-Polls: Atiqul collectes nomination form

Atiqul Islam, the Awami League aspirant for Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayoral by-polls, collected nomination form for the election through his representative yesterday. 

Atiqul's election coordinator AKM Mizanur Rahman collected the form on his behalf from returning officer of the DNCC election.

The Dhaka North City Corporation mayoral by-polls as well as election to councillor posts in 36 new wards -- 18 under each of Dhaka north and south city corporations -- will also be held on February 28.

The last date for filing nomination papers for both the DNCC by-polls and the election to the new wards is January 30.

February 2 is set for scrutinising nomination papers, while February 9 is the last date for withdrawing candidacy.

The mayoral post of Dhaka North City Corporation fell vacant following the death of mayor Annisul Huq on November 30, 2017.

He was elected on April 28, 2015.
