JCD council July 15

The national council of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student body of BNP, will be held on July 15.

President and secretary of JCD will be made through an election and married person will not be allowed to contest the polls.

Seven-member election management body headed by former JCD presidents Khairul Kabir Khokon, five-member selection committee headed by Fazlul Haque Milon and three-member appeal committee headed by Shamsuzzaman Dudu were formed to make the election a success.

Khokon announced the election schedule at a press conference held at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka this noon.

The voting will begin around 9:00am and continued till 3:00pm without any break on that day, Khokon said without clearing anything about the venue of the voting.

The JCD followers who passed Secondary School Certificate examination since 2000 will be eligible to vie for the posts of president and secretary posts, Khokon said.

A draft voter list will be made public on tomorrow while the final one will be published on June 26, he said at the press conference.

The election management body fixed June 28 and 28 for collecting nomination papers, 29 and 30 June for submission of the nomination papers and July 1, 2 and 3 for final scrutiny, Khokon said.

The draft list of the candidates will be announced on July 4 while the final chart will be announced on July 7.
