JCD men attacked by ‘Muktijoddha Mancha’ activists on DU campus

Four Chhatra Dal activists were injured in an attack allegedly by the members of Muktijoddha Mancha, a platform comprising descendants of freedom fighters, on Dhaka University campus this noon. 

The incident took place in front of Modhur Canteen around 12noon, reports our DU correspondent.

Leaders of Muktijoddha Mancha were holding a press conference at Modhur Canteen regarding a Facebook status posted by JCD General Secretary of DU unit Iqbal Hossain Shyamol, witnesses said.

The attack took place when a few leaders of Chhatra Dal went to the spot.

At one stage, activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League allegedly joined Muktijoddha Mancha members and assaulted the JCD activists, Chhatra Dal claimed.

The injured -- Mamun Khan, Shahjahan Shaon, Tarek Hasan Mamun and Naeem Hasan -- have been taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and the university’s medical centre.
