NHRC closely observing govt actions over Abrar murder
National Human Rights Commission today sought speedy trial of Buet student Abrar Fahad murder and demanded exemplary punishment of the killers.
“We deeply condemn the barbaric murder of Abrar Fahad and we have been closely observing the government’s actions taken in this regard,” a NHRC press release quoted its chief Nasima Begum as saying.
The commission members also observed a minute of silence in remembrance of Abrar Fahad, who was brutally murdered allegedly by Bangladesh Chhatra League activists on Monday.
Former senior secretary Nasima Begum has been appointed as the new chairman of NHRC last month.
