No violation of electoral code of conduct so far: RO Azam
Returning Officer of Dhaka KM Ali Azam today said the nomination submission is going on peacefully without any violation of the electoral code of conduct so far.
A total of 32 returning officers are working at six tables to collect nomination letters of candidates from 15 constituencies in Dhaka division, said KM Ali Azam said.
Meanwhile, 15 magistrates have been deployed in Dhaka to ensure that there is no violation of the electoral code of conduct.
The number of nomination submissions can be known after 5:00pm, KM Ali Azam, also Dhaka divisional commissioner, said.
The nomination papers will be scrutinised on December 2 while the last date for withdrawal of candidature is December 9 as per the new schedule announced by the Election Commission.
According to the Election Commission’s instruction, no nomination seeker can take more than seven supporters along with them while they are submitting the nomination papers to the returning officers’ offices and they also cannot hold any showdowns during or after the submission.
