PM returns home from India
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned home tonight wrapping up her four-day official visit to India that saw the signing of seven bilateral documents between the two countries.
A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the prime minister and her entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:35pm.
Earlier, India's Minister of State for Women's Development and Child Welfare Deboshree Choudhury and Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Syed Muazzem Ali saw her off at Palam Air Force Station in New Delhi.
The prime minister attended the India Economic Summit 2019 of the World Economic Forum held on October 3-4.
During the visit, Sheikh Hasina also held a bilateral meeting with her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi and met Indian President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday.
The two prime ministers jointly launched three bilateral development projects and witnessed the signing of seven bilateral documents.
Indian National Congress president Sonia Gandhi accompanied by former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Priyanka Gandhi met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Taj Mahal Hotel today.
Besides, Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore Heng Swee Keat separately met the prime minister.
During her stay in New Delhi, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received 'Tagore Peace Award 2018' in recognition of her contributions to maintaining regional peace and prosperity.
The Asiatic Society, Kolkata honoured the prime minister with the award.
