Those who leave alliance to be thrown into dustbin: Nazrul
BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan today called upon the 20-party alliance partners to stay united saying that the people who will leave the alliance to be thrown into the dustbin.
“Jatiya Oikyafront has been formed and it will be more strengthened. If anyone skids off, will be thrown to the dustbin,” Khan said while addressing a programme at the National Press Club in Dhaka this afternoon.
After weeks of talks and tough negotiations, BNP on Saturday managed to bring together Dr Kamal Hossain's Gono forum and three other parties and launch a new alliance, called Jatiya Oikyafront.
Three days later, the party got struck by a bolt from the blue after two of its partners -- National Democratic Party and National Awami Party – quit the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
Referring to the matter, Khan said the ruling quarter is engaged in spreading propaganda against the political partners of the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
The BNP leader also called upon the people not to be puzzled over the issue and said they have formed the unity only to ensure momentum of the anti-government movement to restore democracy in the country.
The people who wants free and fair election, restoration of democracy, freedom of expression, corruption free country will get united at one point, he added.
He also asked his party men to be prepared to go for a tough movement to meet the goal and demands of the newly formed Oikyafron.
