Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said the problems created in the transport sector due to strike have already been resolved as all types of vehicles are moving normally in the capital and its adjacent areas.

“The transport crisis caused by enforcement of strike across the country has already been resolved through discussions … all sorts of vehicles started to move normally in the capital and its adjacent areas,” he told the journalist while replying a query during a visit to the city’s Suhrawardy Uddhyan to see the overall preparations for holding the 7th national congress of the Jubo League.

If there is still any inconsistency in the transport sector, it would be normal from today, said Quader, also general secretary of the ruling Awami League (AL).

Regarding selection of city unit leadership of the Jubo League, the ruling party leader said, “The committee won’t be declared without holding conference. The new Jubo League committee will take steps to declare the organization’s Dhaka city north and south committees after the council.”

Taking the valuable advice of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Quader, said the Jubo League leadership will be selected by the councilors as they will determine the next leadership after holding discussions among themselves.

Criticizing BNP’s fear of a possible famine-like situation in the country, the AL leader said, “We have no control at all on the BNP as the party’s leaders are making propaganda, making false comments and fearing a famine-like situation in the country while talking on the current market situation.

AL Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organizing Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, Liberation War Affair’s Secretary Asim Kumar Ukil, Jubo League conference organizing committee convener Choyon Islam, Jubo League General Secretary Harunur Rashid, Joint General Secretary Mahiuddin Ahmed Mohi and Organizing Secretary Fazlul Haq Atique, among others, were presented on the occasion.
