Will expel presidium member Nasir from Jatiya Party if allegations are true: GM Quader

Jatiya Party will expel the party's presidium member Nasir U Mahmud from the organisation if he is found guilty in the case over alleged attempted rape and murder of actress Pori Moni.

Talking to The Daily Star over telephone, JP Chairman and deputy leader of the opposition GM Quader said Nasir has been involved with Jatiya Party from his early days and they didn't hear such allegations against him.

Quader also said Nasir has not been active in the party for a while.

"But recently he had expressed to become active in the party. That's why we made him a presidium member [highest policymaking body of the party]," added the JP chief.

Quader said they will hold a meeting on actions against Nasir in the interim period.
