Quader’s bypass surgery successful: Doctor

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader’s bypass surgery was successfully completed in Singapore today, said a doctor.

He is expected to regain consciousness soon, Prof Dr Abu Nasar Rizvi, the doctor accompanying Quader in Singapore, told The Daily Star.

The doctor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) disclosed the update this afternoon quoting Singapore doctors.

Quader’s family has sought blessings from all for his quick recovery, he said.

Quader was admitted to BSMMU on March 3 following breathing complications. Later, tests revealed three blockages in his coronary artery.

He was flown to Singapore the next day for treatment at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
