Quader bins BNP’s call for election dialogue
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today, once again, rejected BNP's call for holding a dialogue over the polls-time government for the upcoming parliamentary election.
“BNP has closed the door of dialogue. The next general election will be held as per the constitution,” he said at a programme in Dhaka this evening.
Quader said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went to visit BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to console her after the demise Arafat Rahman Koko, but had to return without seeing her.
“By doing so BNP closed the door of dialogue,” he said.
“Our government did not interfere in Comilla and Rangpur Citi Corporations polls. Despite this, the party is playing its broken record,” Quader said referring to BNP’s allegations of the government’s role behind those elections.
About the recent political volatility in Narayanganj's Awami League politics, Quader said the offenders will not be spared for violating the political discipline.
"Prime Minister (Sheikh Hasina) has asked me to talk to the home minister over the matter. Offenders must be punished," he added.
