Quader, Howlader ‘only’ JP spokesmen
Newly-made Co-chairman GM Quader and Secretary General Ruhul Amin Howlader have been made the new spokesmen for Jatiya Party.
“Jatiya Party won’t own any comments delivered by anyone other than these two persons,” said a press release floated from the party chairman HM Ershad’s office.
The move comes amidst a very visible difference of opinion amid Ershad group and the followers led by his wife and opposition leader in parliament Raushan Ershad.

The unity amongst Jatiya Party cracked when Ershad, known to have flip-flopped several times in the past, decided to make his brother Quader the new co-chairman.
To a group, mostly followers of Raushan Ershad, the move came as an unwelcome surprise as they took it as the appointment of Ershad’s successor to the Jatiya Party.
Soon after the move, the next big difference on opinion came on whether Jatiya Party’s ministers would step down from the cabinet to “play the role of a true opposition party”.
Ershad’s group has supported the stepping down in the recently-held presidium body meeting. Raushan however was absent in the meeting.
