Order on Fakhrul's bail plea Feb 22

The Supreme Court today fixed February 22 for passing orders on petitions filed by BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir for extending his bail in three separate arson and vandalism cases.
A five-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha fixed the date after concluding hearing on the petitions.
The three cases were filed on January 4, 5 and 6 last year accusing Fakhrul and several other party leaders and activists of vandalising and torching vehicles in Dhaka.
On November 24 last year, the High Court granted bail to Fakhrul for three months in the cases on his health ground after disposing of his three bail petitions.
Fakhrul recently filed three petitions with the apex court seeking extension of the HC order as the bail period will expire on February 23.
