Graft case against Khaleda a mockery: LDP
Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) President Col (Retd) Oli Ahmed today said that the corruption case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is nothing but a mockery.
Speaking at a roundtable, he said, the graft case is “nothing but mockery” because “the government has already turned the judiciary into a controversial institution.”
“Prime Minister Sheikh is very much afraid of fair election and democracy,” he said at the programme organised at Jatiya Press Club.
The former BNP leader asked BNP to be more united and to rethink their opponent and comprehend the situation sincerely.
Former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, Emajuddin Ahamed said many BNP leaders are not satisfied with the peaceful manner of protest because they want more strong movement.
“I think BNP is now more unified, more integrated and efficient than any other time but the government thought sending Khaleda to jail they can manage to break her party,” he said.
He asked the educated and conscious members of the party to be vocal about the conspiracy regarding the graft case and suggested them to highlight the reality before the public through writings in the mass media.
