President Abdul Hamid arranges special JS session for November 8

President Abdul Hamid today convened the special session of parliament scheduled for November 8 marking Mujib Borsho, the birth centenary of Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The session will start at 6:00pm on that day, said a release of the parliament secretariat.

Abdul Hamid has convened the special session, exercising his power bestowed upon him by Article 72 (1) of the constitution.

Business Advisory Committee on parliament will finalise the duration and other activities of the special session.

Earlier on March 21, the special session of Jatiya Sangsad was postponed following outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

The parliament went into special sittings in January 31 and June 18 in 1974 where former Yugoslav president Marshal Josip Broz Tito and the then Indian president VV Giri addressed the Bangladesh Parliament.
