‘Govt to hand list of 1 lakh Rohingya for repatriation’

The government of Bangladesh will hand Myanmar a list of 100,000 Rohingyas for immediate repatriation, ruling Awami League's General Secretary ObaidulQuader said today.

"We will hand over the list of 1 lakh Rohingyas to Myanmar government today (Friday) to accelerate the repatriation process," Quader said while distributing medicine among the Rohingyas at Kutupalong in Cox's Bazar this noon.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wants to send back the Rohingya people fled to Bangladesh following a persecution in Rakhine state of Myanmar upholding their dignity and security, Quader road.

The Joint Working Group constituted to facilitate the repatriation of the Rohingyas is working to make the effort a success, Quader, also transport and bridges minister of the government, said.

In regard to BNP's participation in the next general election, the Awami League leader said the 11th parliamentary election will be held at due time. "It will not wait for anyone." he said.
