Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working for repatriation of the Rohingyas who entered Bangladesh to save their lives facing violence by Myanmar Army.

'Bangabondhu daughter Sheikh Hasina has given shelter to the thousands of Rohingya people considering humanity,' he told journalists after visiting under construction tunnel site at Patenga in the port city. He said repatriation of Rohingyas is very important issue for us.

Quader, also general secretary of Awami League, said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is dealing the Rohingya issue with caution and wants to end the crisis peacefully. We will try hard to create pressure on Myanmar by the United Nation about repatriation, he added.

He said the law enforcing agencies remain alert so that the Rohingyas may not involve with criminal activities.

Leaders and activists of Local Awami League, officials of district administration and local government accompanied the minister during the visit.
