Moving to Bhasan Char for a new life: Rohingya youth who lost whole family in Myanmar

Mohammed Yunush, 20, lost his parents during the persecution by security forces in Myanmar against Rohingyas in August, 2017.

He managed to escape death and entered Bangladesh with other Rohingyas.

Since then, he has been staying alone at a Rohingya refugee camp in Kutupalong of Cox's Bazar. For survival, the young boy started working with different aid workers in the camp. But misfortune did not leave him in the camp, as fellow Rohingya residents used to harass and beat him up often.

Yunush finally decided to move at Bhasan Char with other Rohingyas with the dream of a new life.

He is among 1,759 Rohingyas, who were on the way to Bhasan Char in the second consignment of fifth batch today. Carrying them, five naval vessels left Chattogram city's Boat Club in Patenga around 10:30am.

"I've lost my family in the barbaric attack by Myanmar's security force. I had no hope. At Kutupalong camp, I used to work with multiple aid workers to stay busy, but a section of Rohingyas used to beat me up as I have no guardian," Yunush told The Daily Star while boarding a naval ship.
