‘Rohingya leader’ found dead in Ukhia camp
A Rohingya man has been found dead in Balukhali Rohingya camp, Ukhia, of Cox's Bazar.
The dead has been identified as Arif Ullah, 48, said to be a Rohingya leader, our local staff correspondent reports quoting Additional Police Superintendent Chailau Marma.
Police received information of the murder in Balukhali camp 11, Block C, around 8:00pm last night. The body has been recovered and sent to Cox's Bazar District Hospital morgue.
According to what could be known from locals, Arif had a quarrel with a "rival group" over establishing supremacy in the camp. Police thinks the murder was motivated from enmity.
Police official Chailau Marma said the law enforcers are trying to arrest the murderers.
Meanwhile, the killing has given rise to tension in the Rohingya camp. Additional police force has been deployed in the area to avert any further untoward incident
