Rohingya man killed in landmine blast near Myanmar border
A Rohingya man was killed in a landmine explosion on Myanmar border near Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban today.
The landmine was planted by the Border Guard Police (BGP) of Myanmar in Murongajhiri area, Lt Col Ali Hayder Azad Ahmed, commanding officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 34 Battalion in Cox's Bazar, told our local correspondent.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Mazid, 36, from Kutupalong refugee camps of Ukhia in Cox's Bazar, the BGB official said.
It was not known why he went to the border region, said Anwar Hosen, officer-in-charge of Naikhongchhari Police Station.
