Workshop on Rohingya crisis in Dhaka tomorrow

A daylong workshop on "Domestic, Regional and International Dimensions of the Rohingya Issue: Dealing with a Man-made Crisis" will be held in Dhaka tomorrow.

The workshop organized by the Cosmos Foundation will begin at 11 am at the Hotel Amari, 47, Road # 41, Gulshan-2, said a press release.

The Chairman of the Foundation, Enayetullah Khan, stated that the event is expected to be attended by key members of the intelligentsia and the civil society and hoped that it would lead to a successful outcome, addressing some possible solutions.

The panelists will be Professor CR Abrar of Dhaka University, Major General (Retd) Muniruzzaman of the Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies (BIPSS), Asif Munier and Brig Gen Shahedul Anam Khan of The Daily Star.

The workshop will be chaired by Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury, principal research fellow of the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) in Singapore and former foreign advisor of a caretaker government.
