Acting manager thought he would just have to be the best at acting
A man lost his job at a company yesterday, weeks after being made its acting manager, because he paid too much attention to the "acting" part.
"Okay, let me ask you this, who is given the post of manager in a company? Is it not the person who is best at the job?" asked Komol Imran, the former acting manager of Insight Inc. As he asked the question, he started hyperventilating and then wiped off an imaginary tear.
He then started chuckling, in a dramatic turn of mood. He soon started guffawing, scaring the living daylights out of this correspondent.
"So, then, when I was offered the acting manager position, hehehehe, what was I supposed to think, huh?" Komol asked, suddenly very aggressive.
"I thought I was appointed to be the best at acting. My every move had to be the best expressed, and everyone had to, you know, feel me."
"If a report was submitted on time, he would shower the submitter with praise and would go overboard. If someone showed up late, Komol would stand on a desk and deliver a monologue.
Employees at the company said Komol, immediately after getting the acting manager's post, just went ballistic.
"If a report was submitted on time, he would shower the submitter with praise and would go overboard. If someone showed up late, Komol would stand on a desk and deliver a monologue.
"If an employee got pissed off at these excesses, Komol would break down in tears."
One of the members of the board of directors said, "The situation was just untenable. We told him repeatedly that he was supposed to be manager; not the manager of acting inside the organisation. We had to fire him eventually, because the HR complaints were just piling up."
Friends of Komol said he is a big SRK fan and had recently learned Pathaan would not be released in February.
