Apple to introduce new idiot emoji

A local man has won a competition to be the inspiration for the new "#Covidiot" emoji to be introduced soon by Apple.  

The emoji contest was held worldwide with people tweeting, Instagramming, and Facebooking pictures of themselves wearing masks to Apple under the hashtag "maskup".

"We didn't tell people what the emoji was supposed to be, because we wanted authenticity," said Jim Shook, CEO of Apple. "And it worked, we got some real idiots in the contest. We need this emoji because our users want to express themselves in their own way, within the strict parameters we provide them, of course. This year the emoji is free, but they won't be able to use it from next year unless they pay for it."

The Chapasthani man in question, with the Twitter handle Mukh Ushpori, tweeted a picture of himself with his mask on below his nose.

When contacted after his victory, he said, "I am very responsible, I always wear a mask, even when I am sleeping. People say it is hard to breathe while wearing masks, but I never faced any problems."

He narrowly beat out two candidates from Russia and the US. The Russian woman had the mask around her chin, while it is understood that the US man's photo was sent in by one of his employees, who snapped a photo of her boss shouting at everyone to wear a mask while he was maskless.

"I don't know why they were even considered," wondered Mukh Ushpori. "One wasn't even wearing a mask and the other was wearing it around her chin -- that's not the proper way to win a contest."

At this point, he was shown a picture of his winning post released by Apple, with #Covidiot written beside the image.

"Wait, what was the contest for? I thought it was #maskup…" he said, then opened his mask, sneezed, coughed and put it back on.
