Buff man furious that fat-shaming is not allowed, goes back to binge eating
Paul O'wan, an Irish Bangladeshi fitness instructor and social media personality, has made headlines with a sudden change in lifestyle. The reason behind it raised even more eyebrows, even though it failed to raise weights.
In an op-ed for Mard Magazine, Paul O'wan dove deep into the history of his fitness journey.
"I was bullied as a wee lad, for not being wee at all. I weighed 20 stone when I was not even 20 years in age, and all the lads in the local pub would poke me and curse me. It was no craic," he wrote.
He wrote further: "It was then that me grandad whooped me with a cane made of boar tusks and made me run up and down the hill in front of the stream that ran outside o'town. 'Run, ye fat ol' bugger, run till ye reach them weans who laughed at ye and poked ye and made ye cry,' he'd scream."
Life took many turns for O'wan before he found himself in Dhaka, training youngsters to become the best version of themselves and terrorising overweight individuals across town in his terrible Irish-accented Dhakaiya Bangla.
"He's a bully, and I've had to take psychological therapy for the last three months after he fat-shamed me into joining his gym," said Laltu, a former member of "Get in Shape Ye Fat Sack o' Potatoes Fitness Centre".
"I lost 50 kilogrammes after joining Mr. O'wan's gym, but I also developed three different eating disorders," said Shiknu, 21, who was a member of "Get in Shape Ye Fat Sack o' Potatoes Fitness Centre" for six months last year.
With all these allegations of fat shaming and bullying mounting against him, Paul O'wan has now decided he will undo his life's work and become the opposite of what he's wanted to be his whole life.
In his op-ed for Mard Magazine, he wrote: "If I can't call fat sacks o' potatoes fat sacks o' potatoes, it defeats the whole purpose of fitness and what it means for me to build my body. I feel stressed all the time since I have been getting attacked like this, and the only thing that helps is to eat like there's a super massive black hole in my belly."
