Engineering student baffled after being turned down by girl online

As far back as Shadman Sakib* could remember, he had always been a shy boy. For some reason, he wasn't good at making friends, let alone become popular in school.  

But one thing Sakib was good at, and that was academics. He always managed to outdo everyone in class but his academic success meant nothing to him as he had no one in school to cheer him up, to tell him he did a good job.

In his early teens, he was exposed to social media and along with it came an array of content including the ever-present joke that if you studied at the best engineering school or the best medical school in the country, you're automatically considered attractive.

That was a ray of hope shone for Sakib as he toyed with the idea in his head and eventually started viewing the joke as a realistic possibility. All his anguish about his social inadequacies dissolved as he found himself grinding day and night to get into the best engineering school in the country.

And Voila! Shadman Sakib was now officially a student in of the Best Engineering University (BEU). All he had to do now was reach out to anyone he desired, and that person will bend themselves to his command. After all, he was a student in an extremely competitive school which naturally represents the best of the best adjectives that exist in the dictionary.

If anyone can "score" a girlfriend, it was Sakib.

He decided to text a girl he saw on Facebook and to make sure she understood how incredibly fortunate she was that Sakib, a top student from BEU, is texting her, he explicitly expressed his tireless work on one of his assignments with a friendly hint that he is interested in her.

Much to his chagrin, she ignored him.

Did she not see that he goes to BEU or was she just an abnormal human being who doesn't judge people based on what institution they go to? The latter seemed very irrational, so Sakib decides to hit her up a second time.

Not only does she ignore him; this time she blocks him.

He expresses his frustration to others in his class and they all agree that she is simply intellectually incapable of appreciating his supremacy, as she should, given that he is clearly better than her as he goes to BEU and she to some private university.

Sakib is further comforted by his mother when she assures him that he is a good boy who definitely deserves better.
