We cannot stress how important it is to wear a helmet. Brains outside the head are a nasty thing to experience. Here's the most high tech helmets that are available right now. 

Tiny side mirrors on our bikes are often almost useless to see behind. Several helmet designers have tackled this by incorporating heads up display (HUD) on the visor that projects images from a camera mounted on the back of the helmet.
