Anime with random plots that you'll love

Sometimes, even for an otaku, a brilliant psycho-thriller or a tearful shoujo anime gets boring. It's like eating the same banquet everyday and you are begging for a much simpler change of food. And the sunny changes might be the following animes:

DAILY LIVES OF HIGH SCHOOL BOYS

Even though the name may suggest corny high school encounters and all, the anime really isn't all about that. With no perfect storyline, this one is a must for those who love a midnight laugh. Although it lacks a mind-boggling strong plot, it does come with a series of events called "The Literary Girl" which will shake your funny bones in the right way. All the characters including the main trio are equally hilarious in all the twelve episodes. Personally, I loved the genuineness of all the characters. The main trio Tadakuni, Hidenori and Yoshitake are artful idiots with whom you are going to compare your best friends for the rest of your lives. And the cherry on top are the openings and endings which are weird pieces but it suits the eccentricity of this anime.

HIMOUTO! UMARU

This anime focuses on a single character, Umaru who is a perfect doll when she's outside but a laid back, hyped gamer when she gets home. Though all the characters here are not as creative as the aforementioned anime, the main character, Umaru will be your favourite one. Himouto means a lazy female and Umaru grandly lives up to her name. All the episodes have no connection whatsoever, but the smooth visualisation and Umaru's strangeness will definitely pique your interest to watch it to the last episode in the hope of some more of Umaru's oddly satisfying activities and guess what, there are plenty.

NICHIJOU

Most of you may have heard the name of this almost ancient anime but probably didn't watch it. I also thought it'd be a weird experience but on a friend's repetitive requests, I gave it a shot and actually liked it. This whole anime is the definition of weird with an ensemble of outlandish characters who ride on goats, who are scientists in spite of being toddlers and have a talking cat and what not. Frankly, it is not that funny, since at times the humour will feel overly-done. But all in all, you can watch this light-hearted anime if you need a change.

TONARI NO SEKI KUN

Classmates inhabit your life whether you like them or not. But this anime got me resenting them for not being as cool as Seki. This anime is about a strange boy named Seki who does these curious set of things every day at class. Sitting at the last bench, nobody strangely notices his endeavours except the girl beside him, Rumi Yokoi who is torn between amusement for Seki's creative take on things and annoyance when she's the one who gets in trouble. This anime is only ebbed by its slightly poor visualisation since it's not that cleverly flourished with stunning backdrops. That said, a couple of bonus points for this anime because the episodes are really concise and the opening is downright innovative.

At the end of the day, the best part of these anime is that there are no filler episodes and nothing too serious or controversial to get our brain cells heavily worked up. Rather these are like the tonics in our chaotic lives when sometimes what we need is a character doing some completely nonsensical thing followed by our involuntary snort.
