GP MUSIC - One for both the listeners and the artists

The all new GP Music app offers interesting features with specific attention to ease of use, much to the delight of us local music lovers.

At only 17.3 MB, the app is light and you will find a smooth and user-friendly feel to your fingers as you swipe across tracks by your favourite artists. With a seemingly unending collection of Bangla songs, it lives up to its hype as the "largest library of local music in Bangladesh", starting from classics to the newest sensations.

An impressive feature of the app is that you can download a song while online, and later play it in offline mode. It is very light on the pocket. Moreover, the music quality is immaculate – a perk of getting the original version of a song the way it was meant to be heard. Moreover, the app will be a breather for musicians falling victims to piracy. Streaming online and offline is free, though, with the music quality exactly the same.

Finding your preferred artist is easy on the search bar, and while you check a track from an album of your choice from an artist, you will also find their other albums in a list below along with an "About" section with a brief background of that artist. The app allows you to make your own playlist, while having access to other curated playlists.

Perhaps the most striking feature of the app is the new "Musicasters", which comprises of a pool of creators who make playlists according to your choice in real time. All in all, GP Music is the answer to Bangladeshi music fans' call for a sophisticated and easy-to-use music app that focuses on local music. Adding to that, it also features a good collection of tracks by popular international artists, in case you are of a mind to look for a change.

Launched earlier this month, the app consists of exclusive releases by artists like Artcell, Tahsan, Miles, Arbovirus, Kona, Tausif, and many more. Being a diehard Artcell fan, I personally am rooting for their third album "Otritiyo" which will exclusively be available on GP Music.

It looks to me that Grameenphone is evolving from its sole identity as a telecom operator to a full-fledged digital service provider, and I welcome it as long as they launch brilliant apps like GP Music for sure. If you are a fan of our very own Bangladeshi music, I suggest you go to your Google Play Store if you are an Android phone user, or Apple Store if you are an iPhone user, download the app, and immerse yourself in a new world of music.
