Music streaming apps are picking up pace in Bangladesh. GAAN is one of them and one that I personally have come to love over the last few weeks. This "on demand music" has a digital archive of various Bangla songs throughout the ages. 

The app has three tabs – new, editorial, and popular – from which you can get access to singles and albums by different artists. For someone like me who hasn't kept track of the local music scene for a while, this app is a fantastic way of discovering new songs and budding artists. You can search for particular artists, albums and songs as well and make playlists with your favourite songs. Moreover, you can add albums, musicians and music to your favourites list. The "Radios" feature is a great new addition to explore music and genres, as are the preset playlists. 

The interface is quite neat and visually appealing with a black background that's easy on the eyes. You will need to sign up with your Facebook account or e-mail address to avail the service. 

I stumbled upon a lot of classics that I had forgotten about, rendering in a long walk down memory lane. Besides, the app keeps me updated about the local music scene. So be it for the sake of memories or to explore new music, I highly recommend the GAAN app.
