2D Tanks of Carnage and Fun

Tank Stars is a turn-based 2D platform game by Playgendary where you make two 2D modelled tanks battle out in a satisfyingly destructible environment. Tanks can be moved horizontally only and you aim by setting the position, angle and power of the shot.

Up until the last update back in 2018, the game has 15 tanks to choose from, 3 of which are premium tanks, or by having a premium account. Each tank has its unique set of weaponry, and they can all be upgraded by unlocking chests to collect cards and upgrading the weapons and tanks once you have enough cards to upgrade them.

The map type remains unchanging, but the terrain and its shapes are never the same. This randomness in the shape of the terrain adds an element that is fun to tackle. Plus, the terrain is destructible too. A drop box is dropped every 3 turns, which gives the collector a special weapon that deals massive damage. There are 4 game types: Vs Bots, vs Player, vs Online and Tournament.

My only gripe with this game is that that you have to go through a lot of grinding to have a decent tank. Other than that, the game hardly bugs out, it takes less than 5 seconds to find an online opponent and it's overall a great curb-stomper of idle time.
