AAA holds 17th AGM and Election 2018
The election of the Executive Council of American Alumni Association of Bangladesh (AAA) for the term 2018-20 was held on April 28, 2018. The Association has elected Nusrat Feroz Aman, CEO of Ayat Skills, Director of Aman Group and Board Member of Presidency University, as its first female President. Arefeen Syed, Actor and Director of Ganges Group, and Rita Lohani, Country Director of Institute for Sustainable Communities were elected as the Secretary and Treasurer respectively. Syed Almas Kabir, CEO of MetroNet Bangladesh Limited and Imtiaj Rasul, Consultant of Data Search were elected as Members of the EC.
AAA seeks to promote fellowship among American graduates, to assist its members to develop careers that use their abilities and education, and to maintain a database of skills that can be furnished to domestic and international users. AAA also gives scholarships to USA-bound students, assists visiting representatives of American colleges and universities, and aides Bangladeshi students exploring the possibility of studying in the USA. AAA also manages computer-based testing centre in Dhaka for students taking TOEFL, GRE and U.S. Medical Licensing Examinations.
Dr. M. Enamul Huq was the Election Commissioner, assisted by Golam Ahmed Faruqui, Md. Mozammel Haque, and Dr. Gazi Nurun Nahar Sultana.
Dr. Mashiur Rahman, Economic Advisor to PM is the Co-Chair and Founding President of AAA. Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat, Ambassador of the United States to Bangladesh is the other Co-Chair of AAA.
